Maker Faire 2025 Overview

I’m exhibiting at Maker Faire 2025! Here’s an overview of what I’m showing off along with links for everything. Consider this page a virtual flyer from my booth that you can refer back to whenever you want!

Vega 4x5 by Vegatype

Vega 4x5 camera

This is a mostly 3D printed large format camera that captures images directly onto 4x5” photographic film or paper. It is also compatible with a wide variety of other film formats through the use of various different film holders and adapters. I’ve wanted a camera like this for a while, and 3D printing has opened the door for me to build it myself. If you’d like to read more about it, I’ve put together a blog post on the Vega 4x5.

Mamiya Press Lens Cone

I wanted to continue to use my Mamiya Press lenses with the Lomograflok back and the Vega 4x5, so I designed a replacement for the entire bellows and front standard that accepts Mamiya Press lenses and positions them at the correct depth and shift for the Lomograflok back. I want to create another version that centers the lens and places it at the correct distance for a normal 4x5 focusing screen. That way, I can use them with Graflok-compatible 120 film backs.

Brancopan by Cameradactyl

Brancopan camera, with a blocky appearance, printed in purple, yellow, cyan, and black, sitting on a couch with a Mamiya Press 50mm lens attached to it

The Brancopan is a panoramic camera that shoots 24x56mm images onto 35mm film. It uses lenses originally designed for the Mamiya Press camera system, and is fully 3D printed with the exception of some screws and one spring from a clicky pen. It even includes a film advance lever that automatically stops at the next frame!

Assembly took me approximately 20 hours of time over the span of a few weeks. Cameradactyl created a great assembly video that goes through all the steps in detail, including what parts to sand. He also provides print files for viewfinders for a wide variety of lens focal lengths. Would I recommend building one? I don’t know. It’s big, heavy, and conspicuous, but you can try it out for yourself at my Maker Faire booth!

LigeroLG by SPRKPLG

LigeroLG camera, printed in grey and yellow, attached to a Lomograflok back, with a viewfinder and flash attached to the top, sitting on a table

The LigeroLG was the original reason I purchased the Lomograflok back. It’s really a glorified lens cone, but it has all the hardware for mounting a Mamiya Press lens, Lomograflok back, cable release, viewfinder, flash, and whatever other accessories you like. I like to use the TTArtisan 21mm Viewfinder and Godox Lux Junior flash. In my opinion, it’s the ultimate portable Instax Wide camera.
